Welcome to the 2025-26 School Year
![]() |
Welcome to a new year, Frisco ISD families!
As the first day of school approaches, Frisco ISD reminds everyone to be mindful of children walking to school or riding their bikes. Please observe speed limits in school zones, obey directions from crossing guards and do not text or talk on your phone in these areas. Drivers may need to allow extra time to get to their destination. Find tips on walking, biking or driving to school safely.
New for 2025-26
Texas House Bill 1481 requires school districts to adopt a policy prohibiting student use of personal communication devices during the school day and to establish disciplinary measures for violations.
Beginning Aug. 13, 2025, Frisco ISD students will not be permitted to use personal communication devices from bell to bell during the school day, including passing periods and lunches.
The only communication devices allowed for students to use during the school day are District-provided devices.
- Secondary students are encouraged to participate in the 1 For All program, which provides a Chromebook for use at school and home.
Learn more on the Personal Device Use webpage.
Meet the Teacher nights
Students and families will get a chance to meet their teachers and see their classrooms on the following dates:
- Elementary school - Monday, Aug. 11
- Wortham Intermediate - Tuesday, Aug. 12
- High school - Monday, Aug. 25
- Middle school - Tuesday, Aug. 26
- Career and Technical Education Center - Monday, Sept. 8
School calendars
Academic calendars can be found on the FISD website.
- Find the school hours for all campuses.
- The secondary bell schedules can be found on each campus’s website.
- Middle school students follow a modified block schedule. Each Monday, Tuesday and Friday, students attend their full, eight-period day schedule. On Wednesdays, students only attend their “odd” classes. On Thursdays, students will attend their “even” classes.
- High school students follow an A/B calendar. They attend four of their eight classes on any given school day.
Class schedules
Elementary students can expect to receive an email from their homeroom teacher around or before Meet the Teacher night (this varies from campus to campus). Grade-level schedules can be found on campus websites.
Middle and high school students who completed registration, submitted proof of residency and have taken care of any campus holds by May 23 will be able to view their schedule in HAC on Aug. 4 at 10 a.m.
- Campuses will send out electronic reminders to parents who have not completed those items.
School supplies
Elementary and middle school campuses post their school supply lists on their campus website.
The required supplies in high schools depend on the unique courses the student has selected. During the first week of school, teachers inform students what they need for the class. In general, high school students should bring paper, a writing utensil and folder on the first day of school.
High school students with District Chromebooks should bring their fully charged Chromebook and charging cable on the first day of school. Students taking Algebra I and above have access to a class set of TI-84 calculators for use during class.
1:1 Technology
Learn about Frisco ISD’s 1:1 Technology Program for all grade levels.
Kindergarteners and first graders have access to iPads. Second through fifth graders have Chromebooks at a 1:1 ratio. Elementary students do not take their devices home.
Middle school students will be provided a Chromebook to use at home and school.
House Bill 1481 bans cellphones and other personal communication devices, such as personal laptops, in schools. This mandate eliminates the Bring Your Own Device program for high school students. High school students are encouraged to participate in the 1 For All program so they can receive a touchscreen Chromebook. High school students who do not pay the insurance fee will receive a non-touchscreen Chromebook. Each campus determines its own plan for distributing student devices.
Students are able to enter their own helpdesk tickets by searching for the Incident IQ tile in the Student Portal if their Chromebook is not working or damaged.
Technology tools and support can be found on the District website; however, there are additional support available:
- Call 469-633-6222 on school days between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- High school students and their guardians can email 1forall@friscoisd.org with any questions about the program.
Meals
Student meal prices have increased slightly this year. Breakfast is $2.50 for all students. Lunch is $3 for elementary students and $4 for middle and high school students. Students who do not choose a complete meal or request additional servings will be charged a la carte prices. See the full price list.
Frisco ISD uses SchoolCafe for online meal account prepayments. Once you set up the account, you can use SchoolCafe to:
- View the daily menus in the SchoolCafe app or at www.schoolcafe.com/FRISCOISD/menus.
- Check how much money is in your student’s cafeteria account 24/7.
- Deposit funds instantly to ensure your student won’t lose or forget lunch money.
- View student’s cafeteria purchases to track spending and ensure your child is making healthy choices.
- Set reminders to notify you each time the balance is low.
- Activate an auto-pay feature.
Frisco ISD urges families who may qualify for meal benefits due to low family income to apply for reduced/free meals.
If your child has a special dietary need or restriction, the Child Nutrition webpage has a page dedicated to helping parents navigate requesting accommodations.
Transportation
Transportation is available for children who live 2 miles or more from their assigned school, with a few exceptions.
Families do not need to register or apply to reserve a spot on a bus.
- See if you qualify, then find your bus route and pickup time.
Transportation attempts to arrive at every bus stop on time. Due to variances of individual clocks, students are asked to arrive at the bus stop five minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. Buses will load students and depart the stop. General education buses do not wait for late students. Learn more.
Special needs transportation follows much the same criteria but will wait up to two minutes after the scheduled pickup time at the stop. More information about special education transportation can be found on the Transportation webpage.
Support your campus and district
- Explore volunteer opportunities and submit a background check.
- Join a District committee. Applications are open now.
- Join the PTA.
Stay connected
Teacher email addresses can be found under the Staff tab of the campus website.

- By texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 you can ensure you will receive text messages from the campus and District.
The school district and campuses post important information on the home pages regularly.
Follow your child's school and the District on all social media platforms. When important information needs to get out, you can be certain it will be found there.
